Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Bar Back to join the hotel’s opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in early 2025, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.

Position Summary

Andaz Miami Beach is looking for Bar Backs who are excited, qualified, hard-working, individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros, high volume, and extensive cocktail training are all beneficial but not required. The Bar Backs is responsible to supports bartenders and ensures smooth operation of the bar. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential to succeed in this position.

· Restock and replenish bar supplies, such as glassware, straws, napkins, and garnishes, to maintain uninterrupted service.

· Ensure that all beverage stations are fully stocked with clean glassware, ice, and necessary ingredients.

· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bar area, including counters, tables, and equipment.

· Empty trash bins regularly and ensure proper disposal of waste according to health and safety regulations.

· Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment to uphold high standards of presentation.

· Provide friendly and efficient customer service by promptly assisting with customer inquiries, orders, and requests.

· Assist in delivering beverages to customers, ensuring accuracy and promptness.

· Monitor bar area for empty glasses and promptly collect and clean them to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere.

· Receive and organize deliveries of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages, ensuring proper storage and rotation.

· Maintain inventory levels of bar supplies and notify management when items need to be replenished.

· Assist in conducting regular inventory counts to support accurate stock.

· Work closely with bartenders and other bar staff to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional customer service.

· Communicate effectively with team members, sharing relevant information and providing support as needed.

· Collaborate with the kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely service to customers.

· Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures

· To ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away to maintain quality control

· Works alongside other bartenders to ensure garnishes, syrups, and other bar prep is done on a consistent basis to keep up with business levels

· Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.

· Performs complete bar setup, including ice, garnish, glassware, etc.

· Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests

· Performs opening side work and set up station

· Attends and participates in any training sessions, department meetings

· Provides professional and exceptional food and beverage service

· Listens to guests and anticipates their needs

· Proper serving of wine and alcohol (with awareness)

· Properly executes closing procedures

· Completes closing side work for specific table sections

· Re-stocks bar(s), ensures bar(s) are kept clean, tidy and organized

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar or hospitality setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail to maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Basic math skills to assist with inventory management and cash handling.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (e.g., kegs, cases of beverages).
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20lbs
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
